The Forestadent Snap-Lock Expander with Arms is a precision orthodontic expansion screw designed for the fabrication of removable and fixed palatal expansion appliances. Engineered for safe, controlled maxillary expansion, the Snap-Lock mechanism helps prevent unintended reverse rotation after activation, supporting predictable treatment progress and appliance stability.
Unlike conventional expansion screws, the Snap-Lock system incorporates a locking spring that engages after activation, helping maintain the achieved expansion until the next planned adjustment. The mechanism provides tactile feedback during activation and allows controlled reactivation throughout treatment.
The integrated retention arms simplify laboratory fabrication and provide secure incorporation into acrylic appliances. The activation hole remains properly positioned for future adjustments, while the screw can be safely reversed if over-activated.
