Ortho FlexTech® Stainless Steel Lingual Retainer Wire is designed for secure, long-term passive retention after orthodontic treatment. Its patented interlocking chain construction adapts closely to the lingual contours of the teeth while remaining flexible between adjacent bonding points.
Unlike conventional rigid retainer wires that require extensive bending or burnishing, Ortho FlexTech® can be adapted directly to the lingual anatomy without creating an active bend. Its interproximal flexibility allows minor natural tooth movement while helping reduce stress at the bonded interfaces.
The stainless steel version provides increased tensile and torsional strength while maintaining a compact, low-profile design for patient comfort. Supplied on a 30-inch spool, the material can be cut to the required length for individual fixed lingual retention cases.

The flexible interlocking design allows the retainer to follow the lingual anatomy without the extensive wire adaptation typically required with conventional rigid retainers. The material can be cut directly from the spool and bonded according to the clinician’s preferred fixed-retention protocol.
Measure and cut the required wire length before bonding. Prepare the enamel and apply the selected bonding resin and lingual retainer adhesive according to their respective manufacturer instructions.
The wire must remain passive during placement. Do not intentionally introduce active bends or forces that could produce unwanted tooth movement.
Professional use only. Follow the manufacturer’s current Instructions for Use for adaptation, bonding, curing, finishing, and patient follow-up.
