The Angle Howe Plier has flat beaks that may be used to flatten the U loop of transpalatal bars as an intraoral adjustment. Insertion and removal of transpalatal arches at the doubleback bend is another use. Utility archwire step fabrication is easy using the three-millimeter beaks of the Howe plier. The beaks are serrated, allowing for use in cinchback bends distal to molar tubes.
